Lemon Benefits You Didn’t Know About

Lemons are not just there to flavor your gin and tonic, they have many more uses, especially when it comes to the skin and hair. Lemons are well-known for their many healing properties (which is why we are told to have honey and lemon when we have a sore throat). Here are four more uses of lemons, try them and see if you like them:

Moisturize Your Skin

Most of us have spent a fortune on a face cream that doesn’t work. For an inexpensive purifying moisturizer, mix a couple of drops of freshly squeezed lemon juice with coconut water. It’s runny, so apply with a cotton pad and rub in well. For an even richer mixture use coconut cream instead of water. The coconut moisturizes and the lemon brightens.

Highlight Your Hair

For natural highlights, rinse your hair in lemon juice before going out in the sun. Just wash and condition as normal and use lemon juice in your final rinse. You’ll soon see the difference. It will save you lots of money and it won’t damage your scalp or hair.

Strengthen Your Nails

Who would have thought lemon juice could help strengthen your nails? Just mix one part lemon juice with two parts olive oil and soak your fingers in the mixture for about 15 minutes. Do this twice a week and you will soon see how your nails have become stronger and the skin around your nails will be softer. Plus the lemon juice will remove any staining on your nails.

Whiten Your Teeth

Thoroughly mix lemon juice with baking powder. Use this mixture to brush your teeth once or twice a week, making sure that all your teeth are covered. It will not only whiten your teeth but will also strengthen them by building up the enamel. And you will save money by not buying all those expensive whitening treatments.
